Out of the 355 million women of reproductive age in India, only 12% use sanitary pads. The majority still resort to old cloth pieces, husk, ash, dried leaves, grass, or even newspapers—an alarming reality. Even more concerning is that these unsanitary practices can lead to severe health issues, including fungal infections, urinary tract infections (UTIs), reproductive tract infections (RTIs), and even cervical cancer, which may result in infertility or death.

There is an urgent need to improve the quality of life for these underprivileged women by making sanitary pads both affordable and accessible. Providing them with proper menstrual hygiene solutions will not only free them from discomfort but also ensure they can live a safe, healthy, and dignified life—a fundamental right of every Indian citizen.
